Fighting HIV stigma is an important mission of Duke Law’s Health Justice Clinic, which does so by seeking justice while treating clients with dignity and respect. Anderson Phillips ’17 had the opportunity to do both over the course of two semesters in the clinic in its first criminal case. The Civil Justice Clinic represents a unique partnership between Duke Law and Legal Aid of North Carolina in which students work on cases relating to housing, benefits, and protection from domestic violence, among others.

Duke was the first law school with an in-house legal aid clinic, inled by pioneering Prof. John S. Bradway.

Also included are chapter files of his books, addresses, and articles written by Bradway on topics relating to legal aid. Duke Legal Aid Clinic (DLAC) materials are also present. Bound volumes include correspondence, pamphlets, reports, and other materials related to John Bradway's work with NALAO which have been bound together into volumes.
